It’s that time of the year when we say goodbye to the old and welcome the new. Christmas has come and gone and in a few hours, we will be welcoming 2016, the new year, with open arms. It’s that time of the year to be loud and noisy. To see bright lights and enjoy the company of family. It’s that time of the year to be thankful for the blessings and challenges we have come to face. It’s that time of the year to remember.

What have you done during the year? Have you been naughty, or nice? It’s not only during Christmas that we should check where we are in The List, we should always think and try to remember if we have been naughty or nice.

What you do today will affect all your tomorrows

Now let that sink in. Sunk deep enough yet? Good. It’s a gentle reminder for us to always think before we act. To remind us that everything we do will somehow affect us greatly in the future somehow. Did you fight with a friend before? Did you apologize? If not, I doubt you’re friends now. Have you found a pup on the streets and adopted him? I’m sure you’re happy now, enjoying the company and loving that young one. You see? Something you do will always have results. That’s why you have to take note of the things you do. Now that the year is about to end and a new one will start, it’s time for a review and assessment. Have you been naughty, or nice?

The Best Gifts

Christmas has come and passed, but as we wait for the year to end, let us think and remember, what are the best gifts we have received throughout the year? And I don’t mean material things. The best gifts are those that we can never replace. Those we can never forget. Those that somehow changed us.

The best gift I received was before Christmas. It was not extravagant. It’s as simple as a gift can be. A hug. What made it special though is that it came from a person I love. A person I can never hug back. It’s not even a physical hug, but only from a dream. Yet it is the most special.

Have you been blessed during the year? Were you able to celebrate Christmas as a whole family? Then you are blessed. Remember to count your blessings, for they are the best gifts.

A New Beginning

Now that the new year is almost upon us, it is nice to think of it as a new beginning. A new slate. It’s time for us to think things through and decide what are we gonna be during the year. Do you want to be naughty, or nice? Kind, or not so? It’s time to be better people and this year will be our chance to do so. To start.

Happy new year, everyone!
